Meet the Team

Dalil

OWNER / SUP SURFING GUIDE/ YOGI

Dalil was born in Agadir but has spent the last few decades in San Diego, California, working in the hospitality industry while raising a family and enjoying surf and yoga daily. Although life in Southern California was pretty awesome, Dalil had been missing his culture for way too long so, in 2021, he decided it was time to head back to beautiful Morocco.

After many months of searching for the perfect home, Dalil acquired Maroc Surf Camp, one of the top-rated surf camps in the Taghazout bay area and, since then, many upgrades have been made to the camp. Aside from his obvious passion for sharing his amazing culture, Dalil’s 37 years of customer service experience can be felt from the moment he welcomes you at the camp’s door.

Dalil is fluent in French, English, Spanish, Italian and Darija (local dialect) and, like it is often the case in Morocco, he is a wonderful guide and story teller! Just get him started and you’ll feel his passion about sharing the beauty of Morocco, its fascinating culture, its amazing cuisine and its proud people. And, speaking of surf, if you are a regular like Dalil, you will feel like you’re in surfers heaven and you will love the variety of spots going right :)

Valérie

CHIEF OF ORDER AND FINANCES

Valérie, Dalil’s partner, first met him in California back in 2014. When the Maroc Surf Camp adventure began in 2022, she decided to make the move to Morocco too, bringing with her a strong background in accounting, organisation, and an exceptional eye for detail.

She manages the camp’s finances, payments, and much of the behind-the-scenes organisation that keeps everything running smoothly. But her contribution goes far beyond numbers. With her thoughtful perspective and practical mindset, Valérie has a real talent for making things more coherent, functional, and beautifully put together.

From keeping operations organised to ensuring the camp always feels welcoming, tidy, and well cared for, she brings both structure and warmth to the team. Kind, hardworking, and deeply reliable, she’s one of the quiet forces helping make the Maroc Surf Camp experience feel so seamless.

AZIZ

SURF HEAD COACH

Our surf head coach Aziz is a local boy who grew up riding all of the fantastic waves that we are blessed to have in our area.

Aziz is also a certified surfing coach from the Moroccan Surf Federation and he knows every local spot as well as the dynamics of the Atlantic ocean.

Although his primary focus is safety, Aziz can also be a clown and he will definitely make your surfing session a fun and memorable experience.

And being a local, Aziz is also a wonderful source of knowledge when it comes to the Berber culture!

Finally, Aziz is often assisted by Zakaria, Amine and Youssef so he can keep a ratio of 1 instructor for 5-6 students therefore ensuring that our guests get the best surfing experience.

Karim

RESIDENT YOGA TEACHER

On the yoga side, Karim, our resident yoga teacher/guide is certified in several classic yoga styles (Hatha/Vinyasa/Kundalini Shakti/Yyengar/Functional therapy and Tantra).

Karim brings a quiet but powerful vibe to the yoga and loves teaching in our 180 degrees ocean-views yoga shala. Throughout his career Karim has also travelled extensively to many exotic yoga destinations and therefore brings with him a multitude of worldwide cultural experiences.

Hasna

OFFICE AND RESERVATION MANAGER

Life has a funny way of surprising you! Hasna, a pharmacist and personal coach from Rabat, never expected such a major life shift, until a holiday in Tamraght changed everything. Instantly drawn to the vibe of the place, she met Clara, then managing the camp and preparing her departure.

Falling in love with the team’s energy and the surf camp spirit, Hasna took the plunge and joined MSC in what is arguably one of the most essential roles: being the first point of contact and handling guest communication.

Her natural sense of organization, along with her warm and enthusiastic personality, is something both guests and the team truly appreciate. Being fluent in French, Arabic, and English certainly helps too!

Although Hasna grew up in coastal Rabat and isn’t (yet!) a surfer herself, she’s very familiar with beach culture. She practices yoga and teaches fit dance classes, always keeping the good vibes flowing.

Mina

DINNER CHEF

Born into a close-knit Amazigh family, Mina grew up in the kitchen alongside her mother and sisters, where cooking was always a way of sharing, caring, and bringing people together. Creating delicious meals comes naturally to her, even when cooking for 30 hungry guests!

From traditional tagines and couscous to fresh salads and homemade desserts, Mina brings both variety and heart to every dinner she prepares. Her food is a real highlight of the Maroc Surf Camp experience, and both guests and team members are constantly full of compliments about her cooking.

Mina genuinely loves what she does, and you can taste the care and dedication she puts into every dish.

Nouhaila

BREKFAST CHEF

Born and raised in Aourir, Nouhaila brings a local touch and a quiet kind of magic to our mornings at Maroc Surf Camp. Calm, discreet, and deeply reliable, she’s one of those people who doesn’t need to make noise to make a big impact.

She prepares some of our guests’ favourite breakfast treats, including delicious homemade msemmen and beghrir, giving mornings at the camp an authentic Moroccan flavour. And the love doesn’t stop there: the post-surf snacks she prepares are always a hit too, often eagerly awaited after a long session in the waves.

Thoughtful, focused, and consistently efficient, Nouhaila is a true quiet force in the team, helping each day start (and continue) on a delicious note.

Asma

HOSTESS

Just like our surf head coach Aziz, Asmae was born and raised in our little coastal village of Tamraght and has been surfing since her childhood. She also has a strong background as a camp hostess and is therefore in charge of greeting the guests, check-ins, planning day trips, organizing massages & hamams. Asmae is also training and supervising all of our volunteers as well as supervising the dining room floor, checking rooms, and overall making sure that you have the best experience while in our house.

Aziz

MR DO IT ALL

Aziz is one of the people who helps keep Maroc Surf Camp moving from morning to night. Always active, always ready to help, he’s the kind of team member you’ll often spot rushing from one task to the next with his signature smile.

Originally from the coastal region of Oualidia, where he grew up in a farming environment, Aziz brings a grounded, hands-on approach to his work. From preparing rooms for arriving guests to helping around the camp, running last-minute errands, setting up shared spaces, or jumping in wherever an extra hand is needed, Aziz brings energy and flexibility to the daily life of the camp.

Even though he only speaks Darija, Aziz has a natural way of connecting with people, and his warm presence and willingness to help make him someone many guests quickly come to know during their stay.

Chakra & Ripper

HOME SECURITY

Just over a year old, brother Ripper and sister Chakra were found by Dalil’s brother in the streets of Tangiers when they were two months old. He received a video asking if I had room for them and, although he never had pets before, we just could not resist their cuteness :)

Once they arrived in our camp, Chakra and Ripper immediately charmed the entire camp and continue to do so today as adults. They are super friendly dogs so it is not uncommon to find guests early in the morning petting the dogs in the courtyard.

Fun fact they are currently being trained every day by a dog trainer in hopes of helping a bit more around the house.
